1. Obama asks Congress to "Authorize the Use of Force" against ISIS.

• Overview of issue 
• The President speaks on the issue

2. Go to this news website. 

• From the "War and Peace" section, choose an article to read that involves the United States interacting with the outside world (other countries), or involves an event in another country that might eventually involve the United States.
• After reading the article, answer the following questions in the App of your choice (or handwritten):
• 1. Summarize the event or issue that is the focus of the article.
• 2. Explain what the role of the US is in the event.
• 3. Explain your opinion on this event, and your opinion on any actions taken by the United States.
• 4. What do you predict will happen with this issue in the future?
• After answering the questions upload your answers to the eBackpack Assignment "2-12 In-Class Assignment"

3. Open eBackpack "Assignment #5 - Preparing to Debate."

• Using the materials you received last class on the four "options" complete the "Preparing to Debate."
• Assignment #5 is due at the start of next class
• If you were absent last class ask the sub for those materials. Then, go to the blog agenda for 2/5, and complete agenda item #3, and the HW (ebackpack Assignment #4). You should also ask a classmate who was present last class to help explain Assignment #4.
