Agenda for 1/30

Go to Notability. Create a new folder called "America's Response." Create a new note. Answer the question below in your note. 

1. World Events
  • Choose to read one event from page 1 and one event for page 2, that would you think may impact/involve the United States, or may at some point require a response from America.  
  • Identify the event, and explain why you think it may involve America, and any other thoughts you have on the event.



2.  America’s foreign policy today covers a wide range of functions and issues. It includes:
  • establishing and maintaining diplomatic relations with other countries and international organizations such as the United Nations and the Organization of American States

  • peacekeeping functions such as working with allies to assure regional and international security and arms-control efforts

  • a range of international economic issues including trade, travel, and business

  • foreign aid and disaster relief

  • a leadership role in peacemaking around the globe by trying to negotiate treaties and agreements to end regional conflicts

  • a role in trying to address international economic and environmental problems. 

3. The most pressing foreign policy issues for 2015
  • Which of those issues do YOU think is the most "pressing."
  • Why? 
  • Record your answer in your Notability Note.

4. Foreign Policy Values Survey.
  • Part 1 - Meet with the students who had the same “ideal future” as you. Be able to explain why your group feels this is the “best future.”

  • Part 2 - Meet with a student who has a different top priority. You will need to be able to explain, why THEY believe it should be the top priority.
