Drones Persuasive Paragraph Grading Rubric


Your paragraph must answer one of the following questions:

  • Should the US Gov. be able to kill an American citizen by drone strike without a trial?
  • Should the United States continue it's drone campaign against suspected terrorists
Required Elements
 

A. Topic sentence
    • clearly states your answer to the question you chose to answer and provides your overall reason for why you feel that way (answer + reason).
B. Evidence/Analysis 

C. Summation
    • conclude your paragraph by restating (in different words) the claim made in your topic sentence (answer + reason)
Persuasive Paragraph = Topic Sentence + Evidence/Analysis + Summation

6. Prepare for the "Drones Test." 

To study for the test you need to study the information from the Drones FAQ note sheet  (Assignment #7 on eBackpack) AND the "Understanding Drones" graphic organizer (eBackpack assignment "In-Class 3-10").  


HW:
  • Work on your "Drones Question Persuasive Paragraph." The due date for the paragraph is 3/19. The paragraph will count as 40 points of your Drones Test. Upload your paragraph to eBackpack Assignment #9.
  • Study for "Drones" test. Test is on Monday 3/23.
